Sheet Pan Breadsticks: Easy, Flavorful, and Perfect for Any Meal

If you’re looking for a simple and delicious addition to your meal, these Sheet Pan Breadsticks are a fantastic choice. Perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, these breadsticks are flavored with Parmesan cheese, garlic salt, and Italian seasoning. They’re ideal for serving alongside soups, salads, or just enjoying on their own. Here’s how you can make them:

Ingredients:

  • 1½ cups warm water (105° – 115°F)
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp yeast
  • 3¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup melted butter
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese (finely grated)
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 1½ tsp Italian seasoning

Directions:

  1. Activate the Yeast:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, sugar, and salt. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes, or until it becomes bubbly and frothy.
  2. Prepare the Dough:
    • Using a dough hook attachment, slowly add the flour to the mixture. Mix until the dough begins to form a loose ball.
  3. Proof the Dough:
    • Cover the mixing bowl with a dish towel and let the dough proof for 30-45 minutes, or until it has doubled in size.
  4. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  5. Prepare the Sheet Pan:
    • Line a sheet pan with parchment paper for easy clean-up. Melt the butter and pour half onto the bottom of the sheet pan.
  6. Shape the Dough:
    • Place the dough in the center of the prepared sheet pan. Press the dough outward from the center toward the edges of the pan. Continue pressing until the dough evenly covers the bottom of the pan.
  7. Add Toppings:
    • Pour the remaining melted butter over the top of the dough, making sure it’s evenly covered. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese, garlic salt, and Italian seasoning evenly over the dough.
  8. Rise the Dough:
    • Let the dough sit for 15-20 minutes to rise slightly, until it has puffed up about 1 inch.
  9. Cut and Bake:
    • Using a pizza cutter, cut the dough into rows to form breadsticks. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the breadsticks are slightly golden around the edges.
  10. Cool and Serve:
    • Remove from the oven and let the breadsticks cool for a couple of minutes before serving.

Ingredients

Scale

1½ cups warm water (water temp 105° – 115°)
2 tbsp granulated sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp yeast
3¾ cups all-purpose flour
⅓ cup melted butter
½ cup Parmesan cheese (finely grated)
1 tsp garlic salt
1½ tsp Italian seasoning

Instructions

Add warm water, yeast, sugar, and salt to a large mixing bowl. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes or until bubbly.
Using the dough hook attachment, slowly add the flour. Mix until the dough starts to form a loose ball.
Cover the mixing bowl with a dish towel and let the dough proof for 30-45 minutes or until the dough has doubled.
Preheat your oven to 350°.
Prepare a sheet pan. I like to use parchment paper for easy clean-up. Melt the butter and pour half onto the sheet pan’s bottom.
Place the dough in the center of the sheet pan. Starting in the middle of the dough, press the dough outward toward the edge of the pan. Keep pushing the dough toward the edges until the dough covers the bottom of the pan.
Pour the rest of the melted butter over the dough’s top, ensuring the whole surface is covered. Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese, garlic salt, and Italian seasoning evenly over the top.
Let the breadsticks sit for 15-20 minutes or until the dough rises about 1 inch.
Using a pizza cutter, cut the breadsticks into rows. You can cut them however big or small you like.
Bake the breadsticks for 18-20 minutes or until they are slightly golden around the edges.
Remove the breadsticks from the oven and let them cool for a couple of minutes before serving.
