Ingredients You’ll Need

  • Salmon: 1 ½ pounds, approximately 4 fillets with skins removed, cut into 1-inch bites.
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil: 2 tablespoons for that rich, fruity flavor.
  • Seasonings: 1 teaspoon each of paprika, garlic powder, and kosher salt. Plus, ½ teaspoon of black pepper for that perfect seasoning.
  • Bang Bang Sauce: A creamy and spicy concoction made from 1 cup mayonnaise, ½ cup Thai sweet chili sauce, 2 teaspoons Sriracha (adjust according to taste), and 2 tablespoons honey.
  • Garnish: Chives, finely chopped for that burst of color and freshness.

Step-by-Step Cooking Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Air Fryer: Begin by setting your air fryer to 390°F. This ensures that your salmon bites cook evenly and get that perfect texture.
  2. Season the Salmon: In a large bowl, mix together the olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, kosher salt, and black pepper. Add the salmon bites to the bowl and gently toss them until they’re well-coated with the seasoning mix.
  3. Prepare the Bang Bang Sauce: In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, and honey. Pour half of this sauce into another bowl for later use as a drizzle, and keep the remaining half for tossing the salmon bites.
  4. Coat the Salmon with Sauce: Take the seasoned salmon bites and toss them in the half portion of the Bang Bang sauce until they’re nicely coated.
  5. Air Fry in Batches: To avoid overcrowding, place the salmon bites in an even layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 4-5 minutes, then flip and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes on the opposite side, or until the salmon reaches an internal temperature of 140-145°F.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Once cooked, transfer the salmon bites to a serving plate. Drizzle them with the reserved Bang Bang sauce and garnish with chopped chives.
