1/2 cup unsalted butter, 1 stick
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
1 egg, at room temperature if possible
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips


Instructions

Prepare the Dough: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter for 10-20 seconds, or just until it begins to melt. Add the brown sugar and white sugar to the melted butter and beat until fully combined. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and beat for another 30 seconds until smooth. Stir in the flour, baking soda, and salt until fully combined. Finally, fold in the chocolate chips.
Chill the Dough (Optional): For best results, place the dough in the fridge to chill for 30 minutes to overnight. This step is optional but helps the cookies hold their shape better.
Preheat the Air Fryer: Line the air fryer racks or basket with parchment paper. Scoop 2-tablespoon portions of dough into balls and place them in the air fryer basket, leaving about 1.5 inches of space between each ball. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you should be able to fit 2-4 cookies at a time.
Air Fry the Cookies: Set the air fryer to 325°F (163°C) and cook the cookies for 5-7 minutes, or until they are golden and cooked through. The edges should be set, and the centers should be soft.
Cool and Serve: Allow the cookies to rest in the air fryer for 2-3 minutes before removing them to cool further. Serve warm or at room temperature.
