Air Fryer Scallops

  • Author: Dulcia
  • Total Time: 18-20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 1x

Description

These Air Fryer Scallops are a simple yet elegant dish that brings out the natural sweetness of fresh scallops. Seasoned with garlic, Old Bay, and a touch of butter, these scallops are cooked to perfection in the air fryer, resulting in a tender and juicy texture with a golden finish. The quick cooking time ensures that the scallops remain moist, while the air fryer adds a slight crisp to the edges.

Ingredients

Scale

1 pound sea scallops
1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted (or olive oil)
1 teaspoon minced garlic (about 2 small cloves)
1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
½ teaspoon kosher salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

If your scallops have a side muscle attached, use a sharp knife to carefully remove it. Rinse the scallops under cold water, then pat them dry thoroughly with a paper towel.
Place the scallops in a medium bowl. Add the melted butter (or olive oil), minced garlic, Old Bay seasoning, kosher salt, and ground black pepper. Toss the scallops until they are evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or line it with parchment paper. Arrange the scallops in a single layer in the basket, ensuring they do not overlap.
Air fry the scallops at 400°F (200°C) for 8-10 minutes, turning them halfway through the cooking time. The scallops are done when they are tender and opaque.
