These jello shots are a playful and boozy nod to the iconic apple pie, making them ideal for autumn celebrations or holiday events.
Ingredients
2 cups apple cider (not apple cider vinegar!)
2 envelopes (.25 ounces each) unflavored gelatin
1 1/2 cups apple whiskey, chilled
Whipped cream, for serving (optional)
Cinnamon, for serving (optional)
Instructions
Place the plastic jello shot cups on a sheet pan without lids. Set aside.
In a small saucepan, bring the apple cider to a boil. Sprinkle the unflavored gelatin over the cider and stir until fully dissolved.
Remove the pan from heat and allow the mixture to cool for about 15 minutes.
Stir in the chilled apple whiskey until well combined.
Pour the mixture into the plastic cups, being careful not to overfill them.
Transfer the sheet pan with the jello shots to the refrigerator. Let them chill for at least 4 hours or until completely set.
Once set, place lids on the cups and store them in the fridge until ready to serve.
Optional: Before serving, top each jello shot with a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon for extra flavor.
