Description

This Blueberry Balsamic Goat Cheese Appetizer is a delightful balance of sweet and savory, combining the tartness of blueberries with the rich creaminess of goat cheese. The balsamic vinegar adds depth, while the honey and rosemary create a hint of sweetness and earthy fragrance. Paired with crusty French bread, this dish offers the perfect bite for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
2 tsp honey (add an extra teaspoon if your blueberries aren’t very sweet)
2 tsp balsamic vinegar
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 scant tsp crushed rosemary
4 oz goat cheese
2 oz cream cheese
1 loaf crusty French bread

Instructions

Add the blueberries, rosemary, honey, salt, and balsamic vinegar to a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the mixture thickens slightly and becomes a jam-like consistency.
While the blueberry mixture cools for a few minutes, beat together the goat cheese and cream cheese in a small bowl until smooth and creamy.
Spread the goat cheese mixture on a serving plate and top with the cooled blueberry balsamic mixture.
Serve with crusty French bread or crackers for a delicious appetizer.
