Description

This Cheesy Bubble Up Biscuit Pizza Casserole is a fun and delicious twist on traditional pizza, perfect for family dinners or casual gatherings. The fluffy biscuit pieces bubble up as they bake, creating a soft and tender base that pairs perfectly with gooey melted cheese and your favorite pizza toppings.

Ingredients

Scale

2 cans refrigerated buttermilk biscuits (*See Notes)
1 (15 oz) jar pizza sauce
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Pizza toppings of choice (e.g., pepperoni, Italian sausage, bell peppers, onions, etc.)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Open both cans of refrigerated buttermilk biscuits. Using a pizza cutter or a knife, cut each biscuit into quarters or small bite-sized pieces.
Evenly spread the biscuit dough pieces across the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Try to arrange them in a single layer, placing any that need to be slightly stacked near the edges of the pan, where they will bake more quickly.
Spoon or spread the pizza sauce evenly over the top of the dough pieces.
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, followed by your choice of pizza toppings.
Bake the casserole uncovered for 25-30 minutes, or until the biscuit dough is fully cooked and the cheese is melted and starting to brown. Be sure to check the center of the casserole for doneness, as it takes the longest to cook through.
Allow the casserole to cool for at least 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
