This no-bake recipe is a simple yet decadent treat that combines the crispy texture of Ritz crackers with the gooey richness of caramel and the silky smoothness of melted chocolate. Perfect for parties, gatherings, or a special treat for your family, these delights are sure to satisfy any sweet tooth.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 48 Ritz crackers (split into two rounds each, referred to as ‘spliters’)
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon shortening (optional, for smoother chocolate)
  • Sprinkles or sea salt, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Arrange Crackers: Place 24 Ritz spliters in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Add Caramel: Top each spliter with about 1-2 teaspoons of caramel sauce.
  4. Form Sandwiches: Cover each caramel topped spliter with another spliter, pressing gently to form a sandwich.
  5. Melt Chocolate: Combine the chocolate chips and optional shortening in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
  6. Dip Sandwiches in Chocolate: Dip each caramel sandwich into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated. Use a fork to help drain excess chocolate and transfer back to the baking sheet.
  7. Garnish: Immediately sprinkle the wet chocolate with either sprinkles or a dash of sea salt, depending on your preference.
  8. Chill: Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator and chill until the chocolate is firm, about 30 minutes.
