Ingredients

Scale

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon white granulated sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon table salt or sea salt
2 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 egg
1 cup milk (whole or 2%)
4 tablespoons butter, melted
Topping:
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon parsley flakes
4 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, egg, milk, and melted butter until well combined.
Grease a 9 x 5-inch bread pan and spread the batter evenly into the pan.
Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until the center is set and the top is golden brown.
While the bread is baking, prepare the topping by combining the garlic powder, onion powder, parsley flakes, and melted butter.
Once the bread is out of the oven, immediately pour the topping over the hot bread.
Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing.
