- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 cup finely diced yellow onion
- 1 medium jalapeño, seeded and diced
- 1 pound shaved roast beef
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 7 slices white American cheese
- Kosher salt, as needed
- Freshly ground black pepper, as needed
- 8 egg roll wrappers
- 2 teaspoons diced chives, for garnish
Instructions
- Preparing the Sweet Chili Dipping Sauce Combine rice vinegar, sugar, minced garlic, water, and red pepper flakes in a small pot. Bring to a boil, then simmer until sugar dissolves. Once reduced slightly, mix cornstarch with water and add to the pot, simmering until sauce thickens.
- Making the Cheesesteak Filling Heat olive oil in a skillet, then sauté onion and jalapeño until tender. Add roast beef and Worcestershire sauce, topping with slices of American cheese. Allow the cheese to melt and season with salt and pepper.
