Description

Indulge in the rich flavors of a revamped classic with the Cheesy Beef Delight. This recipe draws inspiration from the beloved Philly cheesesteak, introducing an exciting mix of seasoned beef, sautéed vegetables, and Swiss cheese enveloped in a toasty hoagie roll. It’s the perfect dish to satisfy hearty meal cravings, combining simplicity with mouth-watering results.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 pound beef sirloin, cut into thin 2 inch strips
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, julienned
  • 3 ounces Swiss cheese, thinly sliced
  • 4 hoagie rolls, split lengthwise

Instructions

  1. Mix the salt, pepper, paprika, chili powder, onion powder, garlic powder, thyme, marjoram, and basil together in a small bowl. Place the beef sirloin strips into a large bowl, sprinkle with the seasoning mixture, and stir to coat evenly.
  2. Heat half of the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned steak and cook, stirring occasionally, to your preferred level of doneness. Once cooked, remove the steak from the skillet and set it aside on a plate.
  3. Using the same skillet, add the remaining oil followed by the sliced onion and julienned green pepper. Cook and stir the vegetables until they are tender and start to caramelize.
  4. Preheat your oven’s broiler. Distribute the cooked beef evenly among the four hoagie rolls. Add a layer of the sautéed onion and green pepper. Top each with Swiss cheese slices and place on a baking sheet. Broil in the preheated oven just until the cheese melts.
  5. Once the cheese has melted, cover each sandwich with the top half of the roll. Serve hot and enjoy the burst of flavors.
