Description

Introducing the Cherry Cream Cheese Delight Rolls, a mouth-watering dessert that combines crispy textures with lush, sweet cherry and cream cheese fillings. This recipe takes a unique spin on traditional dessert rolls by incorporating fresh lemon undertones and cherry pie filling into a fried, golden-brown package. Ideal for gatherings, special occasions, or as a delightful treat to brighten any day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ounces of softened cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon zest
  • 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon of fresh lemon juice
  • 1 can of cherry pie filling
  • 8 egg roll wrappers (approximately 6″x6″ each)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture Combine the softened cream cheese, lemon zest, granulated sugar, and lemon juice in a bowl. Stir the mixture until it becomes smooth and well integrated. Transfer the mix into a Ziploc bag, snipping off one corner to create a makeshift piping bag.
  2. Step 2: Assembly of Rolls Lay out the egg roll wrappers on a clean surface, positioning them so that one of the corners points towards you. Pipe a straight line of the cream cheese mixture across each wrapper, then place about ten cherries from the cherry pie filling on top of the cream cheese line.
  3. Step 3: Seal the Rolls Moisten the edges of each egg roll wrapper with water. Roll them up tightly, ensuring the edges are well sealed to prevent leaking during frying. Allow the rolls to sit for 3-4 minutes, which helps the water create a firm seal.
  4. Step 4: Frying Heat oil in a deep fryer or a deep skillet to 350°F. Fry the rolls in small batches, ensuring they turn brown and crisp evenly, about 5-6 minutes per batch. Remove them from the oil and let them drain on paper towels.
