- 1 pound cavatappi pasta
- 2 (10.5-ounce) cans of cream of chicken soup
- 2 cups of half & half
- 3 tablespoons of Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon of fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon of season salt (such as Lowry’s brand)
- ½ teaspoon of black pepper
- 3 cups of Swiss cheese, shredded
- 2 cups of rotisserie chicken, diced
- 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter, melted
- ¾ cup of plain panko bread crumbs
- ¼ cup of grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat Oven and Prepare Dish Start by preheating the oven to 375°F. Lightly spray a 9×13 casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray. Set this aside for later use.
- Step 2: Cook the Pasta Boil water in a large pot. Cook the cavatappi pasta according to the package directions, approximately 7 to 8 minutes, until it is al dente. Once done, drain the pasta and set it aside.
- Step 3: Combine Ingredients In a large bowl, stir together the cream of chicken soup, half & half, Dijon mustard, chopped parsley, season salt, and black pepper. Add the shredded Swiss cheese and diced rotisserie chicken to this mixture.
- Step 4: Mix with Pasta Combine the cooked pasta with the chicken and cheese mixture, ensuring that all ingredients are fully integrated.
- Step 5: Transfer to Casserole Dish Pour the mixture into the prepared casserole dish, smoothing out the top to create an even spread.
- Step 6: Add Breadcrumb Topping In a small bowl, combine the melted butter with panko bread crumbs and grated parmesan cheese. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the pasta in the casserole dish to form the crust.
