Description

Cinnamon Roll French Toast Roll-Ups are the epitome of breakfast decadence, blending the cozy, spiced flavors of cinnamon rolls with the tender, eggy texture of French toast. Each roll-up is a swirl of cinnamon-infused buttery bread, crisped to golden perfection, and dusted with a sweet cinnamon-sugar coating that crunches delightfully with every bite. Drizzled or dipped in rich, creamy icing, these roll-ups promise a melt-in-your-mouth experience that elevates morning meals to an art form.

Ingredients

Scale

1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
8 slices thick, soft bread
2 eggs
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup granulated sugar (for assembly)
1 teaspoon cinnamon (for assembly)
11/2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened (for assembly)
1/2 cup cream cheese, room temperature (for icing)
1/4 cup confectioners’ sugar (for icing)

Instructions

Make cinnamon butter and bread: In a bowl, mix butter, light brown sugar, and cinnamon until well combined. Cut the crusts off the bread, then use a rolling pin to roll the slices flat. Spread the cinnamon butter mixture over each slice, then roll them up tightly.
Create your French toast: In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. Dip each bread roll in the egg mixture, ensuring it’s completely coated. Melt the additional butter in a skillet over medium heat, then fry the rolls until golden brown on all sides.
Make the coating and icing: Mix granulated sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Roll the cooked French toast rolls in the sugar-cinnamon mixture to coat them evenly. For the icing, blend together the softened butter, cream cheese, and confectioners’ sugar until smooth. Use the icing as a drizzle over the rolls or as a dip.
