This easy-to-make dip captures all the flavors of the traditional fried wontons filled with crab and cream cheese, but with a simpler and more shareable format. It’s perfect for parties, game days, or just a cozy night in.

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated, divided
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, freshly shredded, divided
  • 2 (6 oz) cans white crab meat, drained
  • 2 tbsp fresh chives
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix the base ingredients: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, lime juice, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Use a hand-held mixer or a whisk to blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the cheeses and crab: To the creamy mixture, add ¾ cup of the shredded mozzarella, ¼ cup of the grated parmesan cheese, the drained crab meat, garlic powder, and chives. Gently fold everything together with a spatula until well incorporated.
  4. Prepare for baking: Transfer the crab mixture into a small baking dish, like a pie dish. Evenly sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheeses over the top.
  5. Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheeses on top are melted and lightly browned.
  6. Serve: Once the dip is baked, remove it from the oven and sprinkle with fresh chives for a pop of color and added flavor. Serve it hot with your favorite crackers, pita chips, or toasted baguette slices.
