Description

Indulge in the heavenly texture and taste of Cream Cheese Crescent Bites, a perfectly crafted treat that marries the flakiness of crescent rolls with a lush cream cheese filling, all topped with a delicate sweet glaze. Ideal for breakfast gatherings, as a delightful snack, or a fetching addition to brunch menus, these bites are not only delectable but are also remarkably easy to prepare.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 egg yolk (reserve the white for the egg wash)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for the glaze)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat the Oven Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper to help prevent sticking.
  2. Step 2: Prepare the Crescent Dough Unroll the crescent roll dough cans on a clean surface. Separate the dough into triangles or squares based on desired shape. If aiming for rounded bites, gently pinch the perforations together to create solid dough blocks.
  3. Step 3: Make the Cream Cheese Filling Mix the softened cream cheese with the egg yolk, vanilla extract, and granulated sugar in a medium mixing bowl until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  4. Step 4: Assemble the Bites Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each piece of dough, folding the edges over to form a pocket, yet leaving some of the cream cheese exposed at the top.
  5. Step 5: Egg Wash Using a fork, lightly beat the reserved egg white and brush a thin layer over the assembled bites to enhance their golden color upon baking.
  6. Step 6: Bake the Bites Arrange the bites on the prepped baking sheet, spaced sufficiently apart. Bake them for 12-15 minutes or until the dough turns golden brown and puffs up. Monitor them closely to avoid over-baking.
  7. Step 7: Make the Glaze In a small bowl, combine the powdered sugar, milk, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Adjust the thickness by altering the amount of milk or sugar to achieve your desired glaze consistency.
  8. Step 8: Drizzle the Glaze Once the bites are baked and slightly cooled, generously drizzle them with the glaze. Allow the glaze to set for a few minutes before serving.
