  • ½ cup milk (almond milk as a substitute)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 medium garlic cloves, minced
  • 33 oz green beans (three cans)
  • 6 oz fried onions
  • ½ cup hard cheese, grated
  • ⅓ cup walnuts, chopped (optional)
  • ¼ cup scallions, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350ºF to ensure it’s ready for baking as you mix the ingredients.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, cream cheese, and minced garlic. Stir them well until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
  3. Drain the canned green beans thoroughly before folding them gently into the cream cheese mixture. This prevents the casserole from becoming too watery.
  4. Incorporate ⅔ cup of the fried onions into the mix, adding a pleasant crunch and onion flavor.
  5. Transfer the green bean mixture into a 1 ½-quart baking dish and smooth the top. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
