For the Meat Sauce:
1 pound ground beef
1 pound ground Italian sausage
1 onion, diced
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon Slap Ya Mama seasoning
1 teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
(2) 15-ounce cans tomato sauce
12-ounce can tomato paste
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon basil
For the Creamy White Sauce:
½ cup butter
1 tablespoon flour
16 ounces heavy cream
6 ounces shredded Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper, to taste
½ cup pasta water
For the Pasta:
16-ounce box Rigatoni pasta
2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded


Instructions

Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray a 9 x 13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. Set aside.
Cook the Pasta:
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Cook the Rigatoni pasta according to the package directions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of the pasta water, then drain the pasta and set it aside.
Prepare the Meat Sauce:
In a large skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef, Italian sausage, and diced onion until the meat is no longer pink and the onions are tender. Drain any excess fat and return the mixture to the pan.
Sprinkle the meat mixture with garlic powder, Slap Ya Mama seasoning, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir to combine.
Add the tomato sauce and tomato paste to the meat mixture. Stir well to combine, cover, and let simmer, stirring occasionally, to allow the flavors to meld.
Make the Creamy White Sauce:
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to remove the raw flour taste.
Pour in the heavy cream and stir until well combined. Add the shredded Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Stir the reserved pasta water into the cheese sauce to thin it slightly.
Combine and Bake:
Add the cooked Rigatoni pasta to the cheese sauce, stirring to coat the pasta evenly.
Pour the pasta and cheese sauce mixture into the prepared baking dish. Spread the meat sauce evenly over the top.
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the top of the meat sauce.
Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, hot, and bubbly.
Serve:
Serve the creamy baked Rigatoni with a side salad and garlic bread for a complete meal.
