Ingredients
1 pound beef flank or skirt steak
1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
12 ounces green beans
4 cloves garlic
3 medium scallions
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/3 cup vegetable or canola oil
1/4 cup water
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
Cooked white rice, for serving
For the Sauce:
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons Shaoxing wine or dry sherry
2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
2 tablespoons water
Instructions
Cut the steak into 2- to 3-inch-wide strips crosswise, then into 1/4-inch-thick pieces. Toss with soy sauce.
Prepare green beans and garlic. Slice scallions, separating white and green parts.
Whisk honey, wine, soy sauce, and water for the sauce.
Heat oil in a large frying pan. Coat beef in cornstarch and fry until crispy. Remove and set aside.
Stir-fry green beans and garlic in the same pan. Add the sauce and beef back, cooking until coated.
Garnish with scallion greens. Serve with white rice.
