Ingredients

¾ cup sour cream
¼ cup milk
1 lb. large uncooked shrimp, deveined and tails optional
1.5 quarts vegetable oil, or 6 cups
Breading
1 cup all-purpose flour
¾ cup panko breadcrumbs
1 ½ teaspoons seasoned salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon each: paprika, garlic powder, onion powder
1 pinch cayenne pepper
Instructions
Prep Work: Set cooling racks over a baking sheet to allow fried shrimp to drain and stay crispy. Thaw shrimp completely and pat dry.
Marinate: Combine sour cream and milk in a wide container to resemble buttermilk consistency. Add shrimp, spooning mixture over them to coat. Let marinate at room temperature for 10 minutes.
Breading: In a separate wide container, mix all breading ingredients.
Frying: Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer to 375°F (190°C). Coat shrimp in breading mixture and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Transfer to cooling racks.
