Ingredients
Scale
- 3 pounds apples
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 teaspoons cinnamon
- 3/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 3/4 teaspoon cloves
- 2 1/2 cups rolled oats (gluten-free if necessary)
- 1/2 cup coconut sugar
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1 1/4 cup oat flour (gluten-free if necessary)
- 1 1/4 cup almond flour
- 2/3 cup coconut oil, softened
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit to ensure it’s hot enough for baking the apple crisp.
- Prepare the Baking Dish: Grease a 9×13 glass baking dish to prevent the apple mixture from sticking to the bottom.
- Prepare the Apples: Peel and slice the apples into medium-sized slices. Place the slices into a large mixing bowl.
- Season the Apples: Add the cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and vanilla extract to the apples. Mix well to ensure all apple slices are evenly coated with the spices.
- Arrange in Baking Dish: Spread the spiced apple mixture evenly at the bottom of the greased baking dish.
- Prepare the Crumble Topping: In another mixing bowl, combine the oats, coconut sugar, maple syrup, oat flour, almond flour, softened coconut oil, and salt.
- Assemble the Crisp: Evenly spread the oat mixture over the apples in the baking dish.
- Bake: Place the dish in the oven and bake for 45 minutes, or until the apples are bubbling and the topping is golden brown.
