Description

Warm up your holiday season with a cup of Festive Creamy Slow Cooker Hot Cocoa. This decadent beverage is perfect for holiday gatherings and cozy winter nights. Made in a slow cooker, this hot cocoa is not only delicious but also wonderfully aromatic, filling your home with a delightful scent that promises comfort and cheer. This rich and creamy recipe combines the smooth textures of milk and cream with the luxurious taste of melted chocolate, enhanced with a hint of vanilla.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • 6 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups of milk chocolate chips (option to use half semi-sweet)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Combine Ingredients Place the heavy whipping cream, milk, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and chocolate chips into a 5-quart slow cooker. If doubling the recipe, use a 6-7 quart slow cooker.
  2. Step 2: Cook Cover and set the slow cooker on low. Let the mixture cook for about 2 hours, making sure to stir occasionally with a whisk to help the chocolate melt evenly and prevent sticking.
  3. Step 3: Melting the Chocolate Check periodically to see if the chocolate chips have completely melted into the milk mixture. If the chocolate is not melting as expected, turn the slow cooker to high temporarily to facilitate melting.
  4. Step 4: Serve Once the chocolate is fully melted and the mixture is hot, switch the slow cooker to the warm setting. Stir well before serving. Garnish each cup of hot cocoa with whipped cream or marshmallows as desired.
