Description
There’s nothing quite like biting into a warm, fluffy breadstick, especially when it’s freshly brushed with melted garlic butter. These breadsticks are the perfect blend of soft, buttery goodness with a hint of garlic and Italian seasoning, making them the ultimate companion for any meal, especially pasta or soup.
Ingredients
For the dough:
1 cup + 2 Tablespoons warm water
1 ½ teaspoons instant yeast
2 Tablespoons granulated sugar
3 Tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 ¾ teaspoons kosher salt
3 cups bread flour or all-purpose flour
For brushing:
3 Tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
½ teaspoon kosher salt
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
In the bowl of an electric stand mixer fitted with a dough hook, combine all the ingredients for the dough except the flour.
On low speed, gradually add the flour. Increase speed to medium and knead the dough for 7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
Transfer the dough to a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a dry towel, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 ½ hours.
Divide the dough into 12 portions. Roll each piece of dough into a 7-inch log. Place the dough logs on a nonstick baking mat or parchment-lined baking sheets, cover, and let rise again until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake for about 12 minutes, or until golden brown.
While the breadsticks are baking, combine the melted butter, salt, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning in a small bowl.
Once the breadsticks are out of the oven, immediately brush them with the butter mixture. Serve warm and enjoy!
