  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • 1 shallot, minced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 ½ pounds medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves, divided
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Grits Start by cooking the grits according to package instructions, substituting chicken stock and milk for water. Season with salt and pepper. Once cooked, incorporate 1 tablespoon of butter until melted. Keep the grits warm and set aside.
  2. Cook the Shallot and Garlic Melt 7 tablespoons of butter in a large cast iron skillet over medium heat. Add the minced shallot, cooking until translucent, approximately 2 minutes. Add garlic, thyme, and paprika and cook till fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Add Flavors and Shrimp Introduce the Worcestershire sauce to the skillet, mixing well. Season the shrimp with salt and pepper and add them to the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes or until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked thoroughly.
  4. Final Touches Stir in 2 tablespoons of parsley and lemon juice, combining everything evenly.
