Ingredients

  • 1 head garlic
  • Extra virgin olive oil for drizzling
  • 1 (12-count) package of dinner rolls, halved lengthwise
  • 1 – 1 1/2 cups marinara sauce
  • 3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 3/4 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced pepperoni
  • 3 tablespoons salted butter, at room temperature or melted
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh sage
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 pinch chili flakes

Directions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Garlic
    • Preheat your oven to 400° F.
    • Slice off the top of the garlic head to expose the cloves.
    • Place the garlic head on a piece of foil, drizzle with olive oil, wrap it up, and bake for 40-55 minutes until the cloves are golden and soft.
  2. Assemble the Sliders
    • Place the bottom half of the dinner rolls on a lined baking sheet.
    • Spread the marinara sauce evenly over the rolls.
    • Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella and provolone cheeses.
    • Add the thinly sliced pepperoni on top of the cheese.
    • Sprinkle half of the grated parmesan cheese over the pepperoni.
    • Place the top half of the rolls over the layered ingredients.
  3. Make the Garlic Butter
    • Once the garlic has cooled, squeeze out the cloves into a bowl.
    • Mix the roasted garlic with the butter, remaining parmesan cheese, chopped sage, dried basil, dried oregano, dried parsley, and a pinch of chili flakes until well combined.
    • Spread this garlic butter mixture over the tops of the rolls.
  4. Bake the Sliders
    • Cover the sliders with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
    • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. Serve
    • Brush with any remaining garlic butter.
    • Serve the sliders hot and enjoy!

1/2 cup thinly sliced pepperoni
3 tablespoons salted butter, at room temperature or melted
1 tablespoon chopped fresh sage
2 teaspoons dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1 pinch chili flakes


Instructions

Preheat the oven to 400° F.
Slice off the top of the garlic head to expose cloves, place on foil, drizzle with olive oil, wrap, and bake for 40-55 minutes until golden and soft.
Place bottom half of dinner rolls on a lined baking sheet, top with marinara, mozzarella, provolone, and pepperoni. Sprinkle with half the parmesan. Top with the other half of the rolls.
After garlic cools, squeeze out cloves, mix with butter, remaining parmesan, sage, basil, oregano, parsley, and chili flakes. Spread over rolls.
Cover with foil, bake for 10 minutes, uncover, bake another 10 minutes until cheese melts.
Brush with any remaining garlic butter. Serve hot.
