Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb medium-sized shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepping the Oven and Dish: Begin by preheating the oven to 375°F (190°C) and greasing a 9×9 inch glass baking dish.
  2. Cooking the Garlic and Shrimp: Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat and sauté the minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add the shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook until pink and fully cooked through, approximately 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Mixing the Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the heavy cream, shredded mozzarella, half of the grated Parmesan, and the cooked shrimp. Stir these together until everything is well mixed.
  4. Assembling the Dish: Transfer the shrimp and cream mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  5. Preparing the Topping: In a separate bowl, mix the panko breadcrumbs with the remaining Parmesan cheese.
  6. Baking the Gratin: Evenly sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture over the shrimp mixture in the baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Garnishing and Serving: Once baked, remove the gratin from the oven and let it cool slightly before sprinkling freshly chopped parsley over the top. Serve warm.
