  • Author: Dulcia
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 6-8 1x

Description

This Goat Cheese Appetizer Spread with Fig Jam and Toasted Pecans is an ideal balance of creamy, tangy goat cheese paired with the sweetness of fig jam and the crunch of toasted pecans. The balsamic vinegar adds a touch of acidity, while the fresh herbs provide a fragrant, earthy finish.

Ingredients

Scale

8 ounces goat cheese, softened to room temperature
4 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
1/2 cup fig jam
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1/3 cup chopped pecans (or walnuts, almonds, or pistachios)
2 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme and rosemary

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a mixing bowl, stir together the softened goat cheese and cream cheese until well combined. Spread the mixture evenly in the bottom of an oven-safe baking dish.
Spoon the fig jam over the cheese mixture, spreading it out evenly.
Drizzle the balsamic vinegar over the fig jam.
Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the fig jam is bubbling and the cheese is warmed through.
While the spread is baking, toast the chopped pecans (or your preferred nuts) in a dry pan over medium heat until aromatic, about 3-5 minutes.
Once the spread is out of the oven, sprinkle it with the toasted pecans and chopped fresh herbs.
Allow the spread to cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve with crostini, crackers, or crudités.
