12 mozzarella string cheese sticks
⅓ cup all-purpose flour
⅛ teaspoon salt
⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 large egg
2 tablespoons milk
¾ cup plain panko bread crumbs
1 tablespoon grated Parmesan
½ teaspoon each of dried basil, oregano, parsley, thyme
½ teaspoon garlic powder
Pinch of crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Vegetable oil, for frying
Marinara sauce for dipping


Instructions

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In three separate shallow dishes:
Dish #1: Mix flour, salt, and pepper.
Dish #2: Whisk egg and milk.
Dish #3: Combine bread crumbs, Parmesan, and all herbs.
Coat each cheese stick in the flour mixture, dip in the egg mix, then the bread crumb mixture. Press to adhere.
