Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs ground beef or turkey
  • 3 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 large yellow onion, diced
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 2 (15-ounce) cans tomato sauce
  • 2 (15-ounce) cans diced tomatoes
  • 1 T Italian seasoning
  • 1 T Adobo seasoning
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 1 T seasoned salt
  • 1/2 T black pepper
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the Meat: Begin by sautéing the ground meat in a large pan over medium-high heat until it is half-cooked; then remove it from the heat momentarily.
  2. Sauté Vegetables: Add the garlic, onions, and olive oil to the skillet with the meat, continuing to cook until the meat is completely browned.
  3. Add Liquids and Seasonings: Stir the water and beef broth into the skillet, followed by the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, Adobo seasoning, bay leaves, seasoned salt, and black pepper. Mix these thoroughly.
  4. Simmer: Reduce the heat, cover, and let the mixture simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Add Pasta: Incorporate the uncooked elbow macaroni, ensuring it is well combined with the other ingredients. Cover the skillet and allow it to simmer for another 30 minutes.
  6. Final Touches: Once the cooking is complete, remove the bay leaves. Stir in the cheddar cheese until it is evenly mixed, then add the mozzarella just before serving to keep it perfectly melty and delicious.
