1 1/3 pounds 93% lean ground turkey
½ medium yellow onion, finely grated and squeezed of excess moisture
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped or grated
2 tablespoons mayonnaise (optional)
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 ½ teaspoons kosher salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
Oil, for the grill grates
Burger buns, cheese, and assorted toppings (lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles)
Condiments (mustard, ketchup, aioli)


Instructions

Prep: Line a small baking sheet with parchment. Grate the onion using a box grater, pressing out moisture with paper towels.
Mix: In a bowl, combine turkey, onion, garlic, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix lightly with hands.
Form Patties: Divide into 4 patties, 1-inch thick. Chill in the freezer for 20 minutes on the baking sheet.
Grill Prep: Heat grill to medium-high. Oil grates with a paper towel dipped in oil using tongs.
Grill: Grill patties 6-7 minutes per side, or until 165°F. Add cheese in the last 2 minutes if desired.
Serve: Assemble burgers with buns, toppings, and condiments.
