Ingredients
4 cups broccoli florets, cut into bite-size pieces 🥦
1 pound lean ground beef 🥩
½ yellow onion, diced 🧅
Salt and pepper, to taste 🧂
2 cloves garlic, minced 🧄
Sauce:
½ cup beef broth 🥣
⅓ cup soy sauce 🥢
¼ cup packed brown sugar 🍬
2 teaspoons sesame oil 🌿
1 clove garlic, minced 🧄
1 teaspoon ground ginger 🌰
1 tablespoon cornstarch 🌽
Rice for serving 🍚
Sliced green onions for serving 🌱
Instructions
1️⃣ In a pot with a steamer basket, bring a few inches of water to a boil and steam the broccoli for 4-5 minutes. It should be tender but still firm. Remove from the steamer basket and set aside. 🚿
2️⃣ In a large skillet, over medium-high heat, sauté the beef and onion together until the beef is fully browned. Add in the garlic and sauté for another minute. Reduce the heat to medium-low. 🍖🧅🧄
3️⃣ While the beef and onion are cooking, in a small bowl, whisk together the beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and cornstarch. 🥣
4️⃣ Add the steamed broccoli to the skillet and pour the sauce over everything. Stir everything together, sautéing until the sauce thickens and coats everything completely. 🥦🍲
5️⃣ Serve over steamed rice with green onions and enjoy! 🍚🌱
