Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 ⅓ cups sweetened flake coconut, separated
  • 1 ¼ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, separated
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan Begin by preheating your oven to 350° Fahrenheit. Melt the butter either in a microwave or on a stovetop and pour it into a 9×9 baking pan, spreading it evenly across the bottom.
  2. Step 2: Form the Crust Sprinkle the graham cracker crumbs over the melted butter, covering the bottom of the pan. Press down gently to form a solid crust.
  3. Step 3: Add the Layers Layer 1 cup of the flaked coconut onto the crust, followed by 1 cup of the chocolate chips, and then 1 cup of chopped pecans. Gently press these layers down to bind them together with the crust.
  4. Step 4: Layer with Condensed Milk Drizzle the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the previous layers, ensuring it covers everything thoroughly.
  5. Step 5: Add Final Layers and Bake Sprinkle the remaining coconut and chocolate chips on top and gently press down. Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the center is set and the edges are lightly browned.
  6. Step 6: Cool and Serve Remove the baking pan from the oven and let the bars cool completely in the pan. Once cooled, cut them into 16-18 bars and serve.
