Description

This Classic Hollandaise Sauce is the epitome of French culinary elegance, combining rich, buttery flavors with a tangy kick from lemon juice. The smooth, velvety texture is perfect for drizzling over eggs Benedict, asparagus, or even grilled fish, adding a luxurious touch to any meal. With just a few simple ingredients and a quick blend, you can create this timeless sauce in minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

3 egg yolks
1 tablespoon lemon juice (or more as desired for flavor)
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/4 teaspoon salt
Pinch of cayenne pepper
1/2 cup unsalted butter or ghee (or more for a thinner consistency), melted and hot

Instructions

Melt the Butter: Melt the butter in the microwave, ensuring it’s covered to prevent splattering. Heat for about 1 minute until it’s hot. Alternatively, you can melt the butter on the stove.
Prepare the Egg Mixture: In a high-powered blender, add the egg yolks, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, salt, and cayenne pepper. Blend for about 5 seconds until the ingredients are combined.
Emulsify the Sauce: With the blender running on medium-high speed, slowly stream the hot melted butter into the egg mixture. Continue blending until the sauce is emulsified and smooth.
Serve: Pour the hollandaise sauce into a small bowl and serve while warm. This sauce is perfect for drizzling over eggs Benedict, steamed vegetables, or grilled meats.
