Whether you’re preparing a quick family dinner or a satisfying snack, these chicken nuggets are a crowd-pleaser. Serve them with your favorite dipping sauce for an extra layer of deliciousness. The best part is, you can make them from scratch with simple ingredients, ensuring they are fresh and free from any unnecessary additives.

Ingredients

Scale

For The Filling:

1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast, chopped into pieces
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/4 cup water
For The Coating:

1 cup breadcrumbs
1 cup flour
2 eggs, beaten
3 cups canola oil for frying

Instructions

Add the chopped chicken to a food processor and process until the meat is pulverized and smooth. Then add spices, water, and cornstarch, and mix again.
Shape some of the chicken filling into a roughly 2″x2″ rectangular shape in your hand and place it onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Continue until all the chicken has been shaped and added to the baking sheet. Place the tray in the freezer and chill for 30 minutes.
Add roughly 3 cups of canola oil to a heavy-bottomed pot or skillet or a deep fryer and heat over medium-high heat.
Remove the chilled chicken nuggets from the freezer and place them in the flour, turning to evenly coat, then transfer to the beaten egg, and finally coat them all evenly in the breadcrumbs.
Once the oil is hot, carefully add the nuggets (working in batches so you don’t overcrowd the pot) and fry for 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway through.
Remove the cooked chicken nuggets from the hot oil using a slotted spoon and transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain off any excess grease.
Repeat until all nuggets have been cooked.
Allow the nuggets to cool significantly before serving them warm.
