Homemade Strawberry Ice Cream

2 cups fresh strawberries, mashed 🍓
2 cups whole milk 🥛
2 cups heavy cream 🥄
1 cup white sugar 🍚
2 teaspoons vanilla extract 🍦
1/4 teaspoon salt 🧂
2 drops red food coloring (optional) 🌈


Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare Strawberries: Mash 2 cups of fresh strawberries in a bowl. Let them sit with a bit of sugar if you want to enhance their flavor. 🍓

2️⃣ Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the mashed strawberries, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Add the drops of food coloring if desired. 🍶

3️⃣ Churn the Ice Cream: Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency. 🍦

4️⃣ Freeze: Transfer the churned ice cream into an airtight container and freeze for at least 2-4 hours until firm. ❄️
