Ingredients
For the bread:
2 and 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup milk
3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons sugar
1 packet (2 and 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
1 egg
For the Filling:
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 jalapeño, minced
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
In a stand mixer, combine two cups of flour and salt.
Heat water, milk, and butter in a saucepan over medium heat until the butter melts. Cool slightly if over 115°F.
Stir sugar and yeast into the warm mixture, let it stand until frothy (about 10 minutes).
Add the yeast mixture and egg to the flour, mix using the dough hook until combined.
Gradually add the remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
Knead on a floured surface, rest the dough for 5-10 minutes.
Roll into a 10×14 inch rectangle, sprinkle with garlic salt, jalapeño, and cheeses.
Roll up, cut vertically into two ropes, twist, and place in a greased loaf pan.
Let rise until doubled (about 1 hour), then bake at 350°F for 40-50 minutes.
