Description

Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of Caribbean flavors with our Jerk Steak & Shrimp over Yellow Rice. This dish is a symphony of bold spices and succulent textures, with each bite transporting you to a tropical paradise. The savory jerk and Creole seasonings perfectly complement the tenderness of the steak and the juiciness of the shrimp, making it a dish that’s both comforting and exotic.

Ingredients

Scale

1lb Angus Steak or Boneless Beef Tri-tip (cut into cubes)
1lb Large Shrimp (Peeled & deveined)
1 C Red & Green Bell Peppers, chopped
1 C Chicken Broth or Water
2 tsp Jerk Seasoning
1 tsp Creole Seasoning
1 tsp Salt & Cracked Black Pepper
1/8 tsp Honey
1 T Butter
1 T Oil
Yellow Rice (preferably Mahatma brand)

Instructions

Heat oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add steak cubes and cook undisturbed for 3 minutes, then gently flip and cook until browned on all sides, about 7-8 minutes. Remove from pan and set aside.
In the same pan, season shrimp with jerk and Creole seasonings, ensuring a thorough blend. The shrimp should begin to turn red. Add butter to the pan, then the seasoned shrimp. Cook for 1 minute on each side, then add honey and cook for an additional minute. Remove from pan; shrimp will continue cooking in the final step.
Add chopped bell peppers to the pan and cook for 3 minutes, or until softened, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
Return the steak and shrimp to the pan, tossing to blend with the peppers.
Pour in chicken broth or water and add all remaining seasonings. Lower the heat to medium-low and let the mixture simmer to enhance the flavors.
Serve the jerk steak and shrimp mixture over cooked yellow rice. Garnish with chopped green onions, cracked black pepper, and/or cilantro if desired.
