Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground pork or beef
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup carrots, finely shredded
- 1/2 cup green beans, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 pack lumpia wrappers (spring roll wrappers)
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Cook the Meat: Heat the tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the ground pork or beef, cooking until it’s fully browned and cooked through.
- Add Aromatics and Vegetables: Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pan and sauté until they become fragrant, about 2 minutes. Follow with the shredded carrots and chopped green beans, mixing well.
- Season the Filling: Stir in the soy sauce, sugar, black pepper, and salt into the pan. Let the mixture cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Once done, remove from heat and allow the filling to cool.
- Prepare the Wrappers: Lay out the lumpia wrappers on a clean, flat surface. Spoon about 1-2 tablespoons of the cooked filling near the edge of each wrapper.
- Roll the Lumpia: Roll each wrapper tightly, folding in the sides to encase the filling securely.
- Fry the Lumpia: Heat a generous amount of vegetable oil in a deep pan or fryer over medium heat. Fry the lumpia in batches until they turn golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Drain the cooked lumpia on paper towels to remove excess oil.
