Description
Magnolia Bakery’s Banana Pudding is a quintessential Southern dessert that promises a perfect blend of creamy, sweet, and comforting flavors. This indulgent treat layers rich vanilla pudding, ripe bananas, and soft Nilla Wafers that soak up the surrounding flavors, creating a melt-in-your-mouth texture that’s both satisfying and delightfully nostalgic.
Ingredients
One 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
1 1/2 cups ice cold water
One 3.4-ounce package instant vanilla pudding mix (preferably Jello-O brand)
3 cups heavy cream
One 12-ounce box Nabisco Nilla Wafers (no substitutions!)
4 cups sliced ripe bananas
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk and ice cold water. Whisk until well blended.
Add the instant vanilla pudding mix and continue whisking for about 2 minutes until the mixture is smooth and thickened.
In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
Gently fold the whipped cream into the pudding mixture until no streaks remain.
In a serving dish, layer Nilla Wafers, followed by sliced bananas, and then the pudding mixture. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of pudding.
Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or overnight, before serving to allow the flavors to meld and the wafers to soften.
