Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups finely chopped pecans
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300F (150C) and prep a cookie sheet either by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, sift together the 2 cups of all-purpose flour and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the 1 cup of softened butter, 1/4 cup of maple syrup, and the 3 teaspoons of vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing until well incorporated. Then, gently fold in the 2 cups of finely chopped pecans.
  5. Shape the dough into 1-inch balls and place them 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the cookies are firm and lightly golden.
  7. Allow the cookies to cool for 5 minutes after baking. Then roll them in the powdered sugar while still warm to create a beautifully sweet finish.
