Perfect for gatherings or a cozy night in, this dip combines creamy, cheesy goodness with the sweet taste of crab. Serve it with crispy baguette slices for a delightful appetizer or snack.

Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces whipped cream cheese 🧀
  • 1/2 cup tartar sauce 🍋
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce 🍶
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional) 🌶️
  • 2 tablespoons Old Bay Seasoning * 🧂
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice 🍋
  • 1 pound jumbo lump or lump crab meat * 🦀
  • 1/4 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese 🧀
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese 🧀
  • Fresh chopped parsley (to garnish) 🌿
  • Sliced and toasted baguette (for dipping) 🥖
  • Olive oil cooking spray 🫒

Instructions:

1️⃣ Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a shallow baking dish with cooking spray. A pie dish works great for this dip. 🔥

2️⃣ Mix the Base
In a large mixing bowl, combine the whipped cream cheese, tartar sauce, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce (if using), Old Bay Seasoning, and lemon juice. Mix well until smooth. 🥄

3️⃣ Fold in Crab Meat
Gently fold in the crab meat, half of the Monterey Jack cheese, and half of the mozzarella cheese using a rubber spatula. Be careful not to break up the crab meat. 🦀

4️⃣ Transfer to Baking Dish
Spoon the mixture into your prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Top with the remaining shredded cheese. 🧀

5️⃣ Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the dip is heated through. ⏳

6️⃣ Garnish and Serve
Garnish with fresh chopped parsley. Serve the dip hot with sliced and toasted baguette slices for dipping. 🌿🥖

Recipe Notes:

  • Old Bay Seasoning: A classic seasoning blend that adds a distinct flavor to crab dishes. If you can’t find it, you can substitute with a mix of celery salt, paprika, and black pepper.
  • Crab Meat: For the best results, use fresh or high-quality canned crab meat. Jumbo lump crab meat is ideal for its large, tender chunks.
