Oreo Egg Rolls

In the adventurous world of culinary fusions, dessert meets snack in the most delightful way with Oreo Egg Rolls. These crispy treats blend the creamy, chocolatey goodness of Oreos with the crunchy texture of egg rolls, making a dessert that’s as fun to make as it is to eat. Below, I’ll walk you through the recipe step by step.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1 8 oz block Cream Cheese, softened
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar + more for dusting
  • 1 cup Mini Oreos, crushed into rough pieces (not crumbs)
  • 15 Egg Roll Wrappers
  • 1 Egg
  • Vegetable Oil, for frying

Directions

Step 1: Prepare the Filling

Start by taking a large mixing bowl and using an electric hand mixer to beat together the sweetened condensed milk, powdered sugar, and cream cheese until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

Step 2: Crush the Oreos

Put the mini Oreos in a plastic bag and gently roll over them with a rolling pin. The goal is to break them into rough pieces rather than fine crumbs. This adds texture to your egg rolls.

Step 3: Set Up for Assembly

Crack an egg into a small bowl and give it a quick whisk with a fork. Set this aside as you’ll use it to seal the egg rolls.

Step 4: Assemble the Egg Rolls

Lay out an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface, positioning it like a diamond with a corner pointing towards you. Place about 1 ½ tablespoons of the cream cheese mixture about a third of the way up the wrapper. Leave around ½ inch empty on each side. Sprinkle some of your crushed Oreos on top of the filling.

Fold the bottom corner over the filling, tuck in the sides, and roll tightly. Use a bit of the beaten egg on the final corner to help seal the wrapper.

Step 5: Fry to Perfection

Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep pan until hot. Fry the egg rolls in batches, about 4 at a time, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown and the wrapper bubbles up. Drain them on a paper towel-lined plate.

Step 6: Serve

Finish off by dusting the egg rolls with powdered sugar. Serve warm for a gooey, creamy center.

Ingredients

Scale

½ cup Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 8 oz block Cream Cheese, softened
1 cup Powdered Sugar + more for dusting
1 cup Mini Oreos, crushed into rough pieces (not crumbs)
15 Egg Roll Wrappers
1 Egg
Vegetable Oil, for frying

Instructions

In a large bowl, use an electric hand mixer to beat the sweetened condensed milk, powdered sugar, and cream cheese together until smooth.
Place the mini Oreos in a plastic bag, and roll with a rolling pin until the Oreos are crushed into rough pieces.
Crack the egg into a small bowl and beat it with a fork. Set aside.
Lay an egg roll wrapper in a diamond shape, with one corner pointing towards you and one corner pointed away. About ⅓ of the way up the wrapper, place about 1 ½ tbsp of cream cheese filling in a horizontal line, leaving about ½” on the right and left sides. Sprinkle some Oreo pieces on top of the cream cheese filling.
Fold up the bottom corner to cover the filling and roll once. Wrap in the two side corners, then continue wrapping until you get to the final, far corner. Wet it with a bit of the beaten egg to hold it in place, then stick the final corner to the egg roll.
Heat about 2” of oil until it’s hot enough that when you add an egg roll, it begins to fry immediately. Deep fry the egg rolls in batches, about 4 at a time, turning them so that they cook evenly. When they are brown and the wrapper has bubbled, remove them from oil and let them rest on a paper towel-lined plate to remove excess oil.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar and enjoy!
