Ingredients

Scale
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup plain Greek style yogurt
  • ½ teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon seasoned salt (such as Lawry’s brand)
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ medium yellow bell pepper, finely chopped (about ½ cup total)
  • ¼ cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon finely diced red onion
  • 2 teaspoons diced pimentos
  • 2 lbs. shelled fresh peas or 2 packages (16 ounces each) frozen peas, thawed and well drained

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Prepare the Dressing In a large bowl, combine the mayonnaise, yogurt, apple cider vinegar, dried basil, sugar, garlic powder, seasoned salt, and black pepper. Whisk these ingredients together until smooth to create the base of your salad’s dressing.
  2. Step 2: Add Vegetables and Cheese To the dressing, add the finely chopped yellow bell pepper, shredded Cheddar cheese, diced red onion, and diced pimentos. Stir these ingredients well to ensure they are evenly coated with the dressing.
  3. Step 3: Incorporate the Peas Gently fold in the peas into the dressing mixture, taking care to not crush them. Ensure that the peas are well distributed and coated with the dressing.
  4. Step 4: Refrigerate Cover the salad bowl with a lid or plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 3-4 hours. This chilling time allows the flavors to meld beautifully.
