Peppermint Cream Discs

  • Author: Dulcia
  • Total Time: 1 hour and 30 minutes
  • Yield: 20 to 24 discs 1x

Description

Peppermint cream discs are a wonderful treat that encapsulates the festive cheer of the holidays, though their delightful minty taste makes them a suitable delicacy year-round. These sweets strike a perfect balance of peppermint and chocolate, offering up a refreshing burst of flavor encased in a smooth chocolate shell. Ideal for gifting or serving at holiday gatherings, these discs are not only tasty but also visually appealing, especially when adorned with colorful sprinkles.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 4 cups confectioners sugar
  • 1 pound chocolate almond bark
  • Sprinkles (optional, for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace by lining a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper, and ensure there is space in your freezer to accommodate it.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk with peppermint extract. Stir these until thoroughly blended.
  3. Gradually add confectioners sugar to the milk mixture while using an electric mixer at low speed, continue mixing until a stiff, non-sticky dough forms.
  4. Roll the dough into small balls and place them on your prepared baking sheet. Press each ball gently to form thick discs.
  5. Transfer the tray to the freezer and let the discs set for about 1 hour to firm up.
  6. Place the chocolate almond bark in a microwave-safe bowl and melt it in the microwave using 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval until smooth.
  7. Dip each chilled peppermint disc into the melted chocolate, ensuring complete coverage. Shake off excess chocolate and return the discs to the baking sheet.
  8. If using sprinkles, sprinkle them on the discs immediately after dipping while the chocolate is still wet.
  9. Allow the chocolate to harden completely at room temperature or hasten the process by chilling the discs in the refrigerator.
