Description

These Philly Cheesesteak Foil Packs are perfect for a campfire, grill, or oven. They’re easy to prepare, packed with flavor, and make for a convenient and tasty meal.


Ingredients

2 large Yukon Gold potatoes (chopped into bite-sized pieces) 🥔
1 large green bell pepper (chopped into bite-sized pieces) 🫑
1/2 cup yellow onion (diced) 🧅
1 cup brown mushrooms (thinly sliced) 🍄
3 tablespoons olive oil 🫒
1 lb lean ground beef 🥩
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 🍶
2 tablespoons ketchup 🍅
1/2 teaspoon paprika 🌶️
1/2 teaspoon onion powder 🧂
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 🧄
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper 🌶️
1 1/2 teaspoons Italian seasoning 🌿
Salt and pepper to taste 🧂
6 slices Provolone cheese 🧀


Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat the grill or oven:

Grill: Preheat to 525-550°F (275-290°C).
Oven: Preheat to 400°F (200°C). 🏡🔥
2️⃣ Prepare the foil:

Cut 4 large sheets of heavy-duty foil (about 2 feet each).
Lightly grease with cooking spray. 🧴
3️⃣ Prepare the veggies:

Combine potatoes, green pepper, onion, and mushrooms in a large bowl.
Add olive oil, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat evenly. 🥔🫑🧅🍄
4️⃣ Prepare the meat:

In the same bowl, combine ground beef with Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Mix until well combined. 🥩🌶️
5️⃣ Assemble the foil packs:

Divide the veggie mixture evenly among the 4 foil sheets.
Coarsely crumble the meat mixture over the veggies in each foil packet.
Seal the foil packets tightly, leaving some room for air circulation. 🫙
6️⃣ Cook the foil packs:

Grill: Place packets on the grill, cook for 10 minutes, flip, and cook for another 5-10 minutes until veggies are tender.
Oven: Place packets on a large sheet pan, bake for 28-38 minutes. ⏲️
7️⃣ Add the cheese:

Carefully open the packets, add Provolone cheese slices, and return to heat to melt the cheese (1-2 minutes). 🧀🔥
8️⃣ Serve and enjoy! 😋
