Roasted Cabbage Steaks

  • Author: Dulcia

Description

Roasted Cabbage Steaks present a delightful twist on traditional vegetable sides. Each steak, with its charred edges and tender, flavorful center, is not only visually appealing but also packed with taste. The blend of garlic, paprika, and optional red pepper flakes adds a vibrant burst of flavor, enhancing the natural sweetness of the cabbage.

Ingredients

Scale

2 small cabbage heads
3 tbsp. olive oil
½ tsp. salt, or to taste
2 tsp. paprika
1 tbsp. garlic powder
Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Remove the stems from the cabbage heads. Cut each head into half, and then each half into two to make four thick slices (about ¾ to 1 inch thick) per head.
Arrange the cabbage slices on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring there is space between each for even cooking.
Brush both sides of each cabbage steak with olive oil. Generously season with salt, garlic powder, and paprika. If desired, add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes, or until the cabbage steaks are tender in the center with crispy, browned edges.
Serve hot, directly from the oven.
