Description

These Sautéed Mushrooms with Garlic Butter are a quick and flavorful side dish that can elevate any meal. The combination of butter and avocado oil creates a rich, velvety texture, while the garlic adds a punch of savory flavor. For an extra layer of umami, you can choose to add Worcestershire sauce, balsamic vinegar, or soy sauce, making this dish even more versatile and delicious.

Ingredients

Scale

2 lb mushrooms (use any variety; halve large ones)
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon avocado oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
Chopped parsley or other herbs for garnish
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional Flavoring (Choose ONE):
1½ tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1½ tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1½ tablespoons soy sauce

Instructions

Prep the Mushrooms:
Wash and dry the mushrooms. Halve any large mushrooms so they are all roughly the same size.
Cook the Mushrooms:
Heat a large pan over medium-high heat and add the mushrooms in a single layer.
Stir occasionally and cook for 3-4 minutes, allowing the mushrooms to release their liquid.
Either drain the liquid or let it reduce completely to concentrate the mushroom flavor.
Sauté with Garlic and Flavoring:
Once the liquid is gone, add the avocado oil, butter, and minced garlic.
Add your choice of Worcestershire sauce, balsamic vinegar, or soy sauce.
Continue to sauté the mushrooms until they are golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
Finish and Serve:
Turn off the heat and season the mushrooms with salt and pepper to taste.
Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
