Ingredients

Scale

1 dozen eggs
12 slices bread
Softened butter
Seasoning: fresh-ground salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder
1 bag shredded cheese

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Lay a non-stick silicone baking mat in your large baking sheet and spray the edges of your baking sheet with cooking spray (as the bread and cheese will touch the ends).
Arrange your slices of bread on the silicone baking mat, fitting them tightly together.
Use the edge of a teaspoon to press down and make a rectangle in each slice of bread, creating a “well” for the eggs.
With a small basting brush, spread softened butter on the unpressed edges of the bread.
Season the bread thoroughly.
Crack an egg into each well.
Lightly season the eggs.
Generously sprinkle shredded cheese over all the buttered parts of the bread.
Bake on the top rack of the oven for 15-20 minutes.
Move the pan to the bottom rack and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, depending on your preference for how the egg is cooked.
Slice and serve.
