Description

Dehydrated peaches offer a delightful way to enjoy the essence of summer peaches all year round. These naturally sweet treats retain the juicy flavors of fresh peaches, condensed into a chewy or crispy snack depending on your preference. Whether added to cereals, baked goods, or eaten alone, they provide a nutritious and delicious option.

Not only are these dehydrated peach slices a healthy alternative to sugary snacks, they’re also incredibly versatile. You can customize the texture by adjusting the drying time, making them as soft or as crisp as you like. Perfect for hikers, busy parents, or anyone looking for a portable and tasty snack option, these peach slices are a must-try for fruit lovers.

Ingredients

Scale

2.2 pounds fresh peaches

Instructions

Rinse the peaches thoroughly to remove any impurities. Pat them dry and weigh to ensure correct amount.
Slice the peaches. You may quarter them first, cutting around the seed core, or slice directly around the pit. Peeling the peaches beforehand is optional.
Set the dehydrator to a medium heat setting, between 135 – 145 Fahrenheit (57- 62 Celsius).
Arrange the peach slices on the dehydrator trays, ensuring they do not overlap to allow even drying.
Dry the peach slices for 8-14 hours, depending on desired chewiness or crispiness. For longer storage, opt for 10-12 hours.
Once dried, remove the peach slices from the trays and store them in an air-tight container or zip-lock bag.
