It’s layered with flavorful Italian sausage, cheesy ravioli, and gooey mozzarella, all cooked in one skillet for easy cleanup. Let’s get cooking!

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 lb. bulk mild or hot Italian sausage
  • 1 (24-oz.) jar marinara sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 (20-oz.) package refrigerated four-cheese ravioli (such as Buitoni)
  • 8 oz. whole milk mozzarella, shredded and divided (about 2 cups)
  • 2 Tbsp. torn fresh basil leaves

Directions

Prepare the Oven

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 450°F with the oven rack positioned 8 inches from the heat source.

Cook the Sausage

  1. Heat the Oil: In a large ovenproof skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Cook the Sausage: Add the Italian sausage to the skillet. Cook, stirring to crumble the sausage, until it is browned and no longer pink, about 6 to 7 minutes.

Add Marinara Sauce

  1. Combine with Sauce: Add the marinara sauce and 1 cup of water to the skillet. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring and scraping the bottom of the skillet for about 2 to 3 minutes.

Add Ravioli

  1. Cook the Ravioli: Add the refrigerated four-cheese ravioli to the skillet. Cook, stirring often and gently, until the sauce thickens and the ravioli is just tender, about 3 to 5 minutes.

Assemble the Lasagna

  1. Layer the Ingredients: Remove the skillet from heat. Transfer half of the ravioli mixture to a bowl. In the skillet, layer half of the shredded mozzarella over the remaining ravioli mixture. Top with the reserved ravioli mixture, and then sprinkle the remaining mozzarella on top.

Bake the Lasagna

  1. Bake: Place the skillet in the preheated oven and bake until the cheese is melted and lightly browned, about 10 minutes.

Finish and Serve

  1. Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from the oven. Sprinkle the dish with torn fresh basil leaves before serving.
